The Space Between

Today Sarah and I were talking about our age difference. I am 25 and she is 20 making us an obvious 5 years apart. While I love the fact that we are 5 years apart, I don't know if Sarah shares the same enthusiasm as I do, but she'll admit in private that she likes it. When I think of the age difference I like to think of some funny facts throughout our life. I look back at history and see where each of us were at that point in time, here are just a few examples of my thoughts:

While I was in first grade, Sarah was born
When Sarah was getting potty trained, I was preparing to get baptized
When I started to drive and date, Sarah was still in primary
When I left on my mission, Sarah was 14
When Sarah had her sweet 16, My parents were picking me up from my mission
When Sarah graduated from high school, I had just had my 23rd birthday
And when Sarah was 20 and I was 25, we fell in love

These are just a few funny things that Sarah and I laugh about when we think of our age difference. But when I look at it I think that it's perfect. Sarah and I fit together more than perfectly, no matter our age. And seeing that I am about 5 years less mature than I should be, it works out fine. I'm so glad that we found each other. Before we were even dating I told Sarah that whenever I got engaged I wanted to be "anxiously engaged" to my fiance. I can honestly say that I am anxiously engaged to Sarah Thomas.

Counting Down the Days

Over the last week, it seems like no matter what happens, I just can’t shake my excitement to get married. The closer the wedding gets, the more real it becomes. I was a little scared I might get cold feet, but at this rate, my feet are ready to run to the temple.

A few days ago, a girl I was working with and her husband were in a little argument. She had just finished venting to me when her husband walked through the door. After a little bit of awkwardness, she asked him if he had put his dishes in the sink yet. His response was, “Of course I did…but even if I didn’t, you would never know.”

My coworker and I glanced at each other and both knew what that meant. He knew the right answer was that he had done the dishes. We knew his second answer said he did not do the dishes. A few minutes later, he left, and I turned to her and said, “Follow him home.” In no time, she was out the door in a race back to her house.

As I sat at Abbey Inn for a few minutes alone, I had some time to reflect on the joys of marriage. Watching this little incident left me surprisingly thrilled to be married. Instead of dreading similar experiences with me and Jeff, I became excited to share my kitchen sink with him. And it was then I decided to make a countdown chain for August 8th. I have always loved these kinds of chains. The daily ripping of stapled paper somehow makes the waiting time a little more bearable. I once told Jeff I was going to sit and stare at the countdown on the side of our blog all day, and since I don’t have internet at my apartment, I have created another countdown to stare at.

My Wedding Do

I need help deciding how to wear my hair for the wedding. Pick your favorite, and vote for one off to the right. If you don't like any of them, comment and tell me your vision of my hair.

I Was Never Told Getting Married Was Expensive!!

For that past couple of weeks I have been looking for ways to save money for when Sarah and I get married, and unfortunately it's come down to selling my truck :(. It was a good truck, and it will be missed (That is if anyone buys it!) But there is a happy ending to this sad tale...

With the money I save I will be able to buy a scooter and save even more money! Just think how fun it's going to be riding off into the sunset on my brand new scooter.

The Second Biggest Event in Cedar

Last week Jeff and I went to see the second biggest fireworks display in Utah for the second biggest event in Cedar. I was told Cedar's fireworks display for the Summer Games is beat only by the Stadium of Fire display. And Cedar may think their main attraction has just ended, but our wedding is just around the corner.

Good News! I got my passport in record time. It only took about two weeks! The Dude Ranch did rock the polls, but Jeff's convinced we need to get out of the country.

Other Good News! The little girls' dresses came. I think we're going to have the girls wear white shirts underneath, and white shoes. The little boys will have colorful bow ties.

Dumpster Diving

Well after a long debate as to where Sarah's Social Security Card, Driver's License and Passport photos could be, there was only one place left to look: The trash. Sarah and I strapped on our rubber gloves and went digging. Our search was not in vain, the said items were in the first bag right on top of the garbage. I knew we would be poor when we first got married, but we are already starting to dig through trash, who knows what the future brings...

Jamaica, we have a problem!

Our plans to go to Jamaica for our honeymoon might be spoiled because Sarah seems to be running into more problems each day in trying to get her passport. No worries though, I'm sure whatever we do for our Honeymoon we will have a good time. This pictures shows how eagerly Sarah was looking at my passport.
