Jeff and I went to Zion last weekend. We hiked up to Observation Point. I knew it was a long hike, and I knew we were hiking to a high point, but I never put the two together. It was 8 miles round trip. 4 miles straight up the mountain. It was beautiful up there and so nice to get away from everything for a day. The weather was perfect, too. I wasn't raised to be an outdoorsy kinda girl, but I think with more trips like this, Jeff might convert me to the wild.
We did some experimenting with photography while we were there. We're no
Dallas Golden, but Jeff snapped some cool pics. The top of that mountain in the first picture is where we were headed.

I don't know how many times I heard Jeff say, "Alright Sarah, we just have to get to those pine trees clear up there and then it's pretty much flat after that."

This was one of my favorite parts of the hike.

Ah. And we finally made it to the top.

There were a lot of squirrels at the top. They were so used to getting fed by the hikers that they would come right up to us. I was more scared of the squirrels than they were of me.

This was also another one of my favorite parts of the hike.

Needless to say, it was a fun weekend. And definitely the breath of fresh air I needed to prepare for the dreaded finals week.
