Well it looks like baby is cooperating for us. I guess I'll forgive him for making me believe he was going to make an early appearance. It's probably for the best that he's staying put.
Especially since I have such cold feet about what to name the little critter. Almost every day this week I've been texting my sister a last minute name of the day. Baby was Griffin for 20 minutes until some quick internet research told me that Griffins sometimes get called Griffindork by bullies at school.
Then I told Jeff if "Griffin" came home and told me a mean kid at school called him Griffindork I wouldn't even feel bad for him because I think the nickname Griffindork is too clever.
So Griffin was out quick.
Then baby's name was Corbin for five minutes until I texted Jeff to inform him our son's name was going to be Corbin. Jeff then informed me Corbin sounds similar to the German word for wastebasket and he didn't really love that.
So Corbin was shot down.
My sister suggested Wally as I was having contractions in Wal-Mart and Freddie if he's born today on Friday the Thirteenth. If only it was that simple.
I'm left hoping with all my heart that as soon as we see our precious little no name baby we'll just know exactly what his name is supposed to be. That can happen, right?
In the meantime I'll continue to clean everything "for the last time" like I've been doing for the last three weeks as I stew over baby names.
And in the meantime you can laugh at my 39 week 3 day baby bump that Eli now frequently mistakes for a pillow. And yes, I still hate the camera-in-the-mirror self portraits, but without it this would have been a pictureless post so just ignore the camera and awkwardness and focus all your attention on my midsection please. Oh, who am I kidding? You probably wouldn't have noticed anything other than the bulging belly anyway. Enjoy:
I've scheduled an induction for the 23rd. No name is going to be in big trouble if he stays in there that long. I can't wait to see him and I can't wait to hold a tiny, innocent newborn again.

"No Name"! I love it! He'd never get made fun of if that were his name.
What happened to Carson?
ps. Im scheduled for a c section the 23rd. That would be crazy to have kids on the same day!
If that baby is staying put, will you please quit making me think he's coming any minute--every single day--for the past week.
Love the self-portrait, big belly pose.
