The Thomas family so kindly spent every morning doting over Jonah so I could hurry and get my work done and have the rest of the day to play.
The cousins all played together seamlessly. They made sword fighting look like a friendly game, and at one point the older cousins convinced the younger cousins to pretend to be their servants and the younger cousins happily complied.
On Thursday evening we went up the mountain to "camp" Thomas style. (Start a fire. Eat a s'more. Put fire out. Go home.)
Only trouble is, we aren't experienced enough "campers" to consider we may need to bring a match or a lighter to fulfill our camping dreams. The good news is, we did bring 2 trunk-fulls of wood to make up for our lighter deficit. Though the wood "wood" not serve much purpose without a flame.
Bless the camp next to us who had an extra match. Or whatever we ended up doing to salvage our reputation of being experienced mountain men.
With the men off working to start a fire, the ladies swarmed to selfie.
Dinner (aka chips with a side of grapes whose only purpose was to ward off the mom guilt associated with only feeding our kids chips for dinner) is served.
I would like to formally thank Cheetos for sponsoring this successful dinner in the mountains.
Before too long Lincoln fell in the water and was left with just a shirt that was just long enough to cover his diaper, leaving him a sliver of decency.
Between the color and the length of his shirt, the Excell family was the closest we've ever come to having a girl.
Becky snuggled our 4th non-girl who was eager to thank her with smiles.
We safely survived another "camp-out" without a single tent or sleeping bag (or match)! We made it back to a nice air conditioned house just in time to put the kids to sleep in real beds so that the grown folk could stay up way too late to enthusiastically play endless rounds of card games.
But wait...There's more!...

You got such great cousin shots!!! Loved this post because I got to see so many sweet faces that I love. Claire's smiling face as she is sitting at the picnic table made me smile. The kids circled around Jonah is adorable. I LOVE the selfie shots and all those cute faces. Nice job on this one, Sarah!
